According to an IPTV service I'm aware of, the MTV global stations are being replaced with similar content found elsewhere. That's THEIR IPTV service though, not necessarily original cable sources.

Today (Dec. 31st) marks the end of the MTV music channels in Europe, the victim of the streaming revolution.
After 44 years, Internet killed the video star.
I wonder what the last song they'll play will be?

They might play Closing Time by Semisonic. Seems to fit right since they are shutting down.

In the end, they went out they way they came in, with the last video being the one that started it all - the Buggles' Video Killed The Radio Star. Other formats used different tunes as the final salute.
