John can still record fresh copy if needed. Probably from home, too.

Why would AM640 want his voice on their station now that he's gone? Better for, say a Greg Brady to take over the read. But hey, if that's what the client wants, I suppose they can get it - if Oakley agrees to still do it.

This equals true.
Brady already has Frank Leo and also doesn't strike me as a "Tom's Place" kinda guy. Maybe the extra cash will change his mind lol. I believe Alex has Frank Leo as well.
Oakley's name still carries some weight in the talk radio sphere. He's just retired. It's the same as Peter Mansbridge pitching for CHIP Reverse Mortgages.
Other talent may not be interested and no AM station is in a position to turn down the revenue. So the contract runs as is until one party wants to initiate a change.
Also consider that 640 is expected to roll out a new lineup after the holidays. There wouldn't be a change until then.
I don't necessarily disagree with you, just sharing what I know about endorsements.

I tuned in for parts of Oakley’s finale and agree with Aytononline that it sounded like he was just running out the clock. He referred to how much time was left at least twice while I was listening. He also tied into Corus as a company, mentioning their stock price being 4 cents for example and a general dissing of management. It sounded a bit sour grapes to me which I thought was poor form for him, or any on-air talent doing their last show. However, I wish him all the best and I’m sure he’ll resurface soon.
I noticed that they did not seem to post Friday's show highlights to the John Oakley Podcast. Does anyone know if that was intentional, or if there is another way of hearing that edition?

I noticed they're still running Oakley-voiced commercials on AM640. (Guess Tom at Tom's Place and Frank Leo are safe for now!) I suppose this isn't that unusual - he was a known personality there and CFRB still runs spots voiced by Bill Carroll, who has been gone almost as long as when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Still, you might think they'd get another voice to do those commercials if the guy is no longer associated with your station.
Speaking of sauropods, Ted Woloshyn still voices plugs for Tom. Thankfully, his mouth isn't full when delivering the breathless deals on men's apparel.

There's absolutely no point in posting a podcast to promote a non-existent show.

They did post Roy Green’s final episode earlier this year, so there is a point to it. Generously we could say they are being inconsistent about it but it makes you wonder what they are trying to hide.

No, there was no point in podcasting Green's last show.
Podcasts are a promotional tool for the shows, and there's no show to promote. It was also a half-assed going-through-the-motions finale.

Lol, so was Oakley's.
But on the larger point of show podcasts - if there is no point to posting the finale, then shouldn't all episodes be taken offline and essentially disappeared?

Takes time to do that for no reward
