Abandoned Radio Station Deliberately Burned Down As Training Exercise

It was once the home of an Idaho radio station.

Now it's rubble.

But it went to a good cause - the former headquarters of KLRC, used for 80 years, was sacrificed so that firefighters there could test their skills.

Longtime Idaho Radio Studio Burned Down in Training Exercise

So it makes me want to think of all the ways the station could have sold this.

"All the hot hits!"

"We're all fired up!"

"Keeping the flame of music alive!"

"Music to Ream-Embers!"

And then there's the playlist:

"Fire" by the Pointer Sisters
"Fire" by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown
"Light My Fire" by The Doors
"Fire& Rain" by James Taylor
"Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash
"Burning Love" by Elvis Presley
"Smoke From A Distant Fire" by the Sanford Townsend Band
"Smoke Gets In Your Eyes," by The Platters (or would the Blue Haze version be more appropriate?)
"The Heat Is On" by Glenn Frey

And finally, the one expression for way too many at Bell this week - "You're Fired."
