It happened right after they came back from the 9:40 AM break on Tuesday. John Moore turned on his mic as the bumper music faded, only to hear his own garbled voice coming out into his headphones. He tried it again. Same result. It appears he may have switched to a second mic in the studio. But again, it sounded like he was gargling and the electronic glitches continued.
He announced, in a bit of a garbled voice, "we have to switch studios!" Back to a few more spots while he presumably went to the other booth. He ultimately wound up in the same control room as his board op, which would certainly have made things awkward. Hopefully, the mics in there are extremely directional and there won't be too many calls to screen!
By the time the hour ended, the engineers had fixed it. I got a laugh out of Jerry Agar noting that you never want to ask certain mermbers of that heroic brigade what happened, because the technical explanation can go on for hours. ("Well, the component goes into the chain which feeds into the board, which...") and all you really want to know is it working again.
Not sure exactly what happened but it's not something you hear everyday.

Too much money for Moore's gift.
Not enough money for the nuts and bolts of the joint.

As long as no 'Jiffy App' spots were missed, who cares?

If something goes wrong at the studio Frank Leo will buy the business.
Or Pope Leo will excommunicate it.

Bell keeps their studios well updated and maintained. Shit happens.

Yep. I noted it only because it was such a rarity - and during the morning show no less. Bell's CFTO may have its technical issues, but CFRB usually runs pretty smoothly.

And CFTO's technical issues are actually staffing issues.

As a long time listener to Moore in the Morning, I’m pretty sure that this was the first time I have heard this type of technical issue, they dealt with it fairly efficiently I thought. It actually added a little drama to my morning!
