Another of the true original music pioneers has gone to Rock And Roll Heaven.
Fats Domino, who at one point was outsold only by Elvis, has died. He was 89.

A buddy of mine who lives in Nashville tells me this...
On Wednesday when the story broke the Associated Press entertainment section ran a headline noting the death of Fats but accompanied by a picture of Chubby Checker...
My buddy had the following take on the mistake by A.P...."probably some kid with a journalism degree who has no clue who EITHER man is..."
Safe to say that is pretty obvious...

That's not the first time the AP has made a mistake like that. I can't quite recall the exact circumstances, but a few years ago, the news agency ran some sort of online story about a Walt Disney executive or something like that. Except the picture they used of him ended up being Dennis Rader - better known as the gruesome serial murderer called "The BTK Killer."
The juxtaposition was hilarious and as terrible as Rader's crimes were, I couldn't help but laugh. I'm betting it didn't take them long to fix it. But you know the Internet - once it's out there, it never really goes away.
