For our friends in Windsor:

His name is Doug Podell and he's been on air in or near the Motor City for most of 50 years on a number of local radio stations. That will end on Dec. 5th, when he will officially finish his final shift on WLLZ and sign off for good. 

These days, lasting half a century in radio is a pretty amazing accomplishment. There are likely to be fewer of them in the future.
