It's been 50 years since the iconic and lengthy unusual-for-radio tune came out and despite all predictions, became a huge hit. Now the band has launched a five part special on the making of the tune, including interview with members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

The first part is out and explores the late Freddie Mercury's unusual approach to songwriting and how the classic became a surprise smash - although the band had extreme confidence in it right from the very beginning, even if radio programmers didn't.
