ABC Plans 24-Hour Show On July 4th

The network plans to mark U.S. Independence Day with what may be the longest program it's ever done -  a full 24 hour special marking America's birthday. Given the frosty relations between Canada and its southern neighbour, this may not attract a huge audience on this side of the border, but outside of a major news event, I can't recall any network ever devoting an entire broadcast day to a single show.

And of course, the Disney owned network will make sure to blow its own horn about its amusement park properties.

I would be surprised if CBS, NBC and FOX didn't do something similar or at least broadcast live all evening and overnight for the countdown to the 250th celebrations.

Re: ABC Plans 24-Hour Show On July 4th

Going by the "This hour has 22 minutes" philosiphy these days in American commercial TV broadcasting, viewers will have a full 38 minutes to:
- Go to the washroom
- Grab a snack
- Go out and light a firework
- Wonder when inflation is going to stabilize
- Muse aloud as to what still could be lurking in those Epstein files

I know I can't wait.
