Another Reason Not To Tune Classical 96.3 In The Car

A cautionary tale from England, where a woman tuned her radio into the BBC’s Classical Music outlet and promptly fell asleep at the wheel, crashing into a road sign. She blames her choice of radio station.

Fortunately no one was hurt, but you have to wonder what song they were playing.

Maybe it was Brahms Lullaby.

Church organist fell asleep at the wheel after switching radio to Classic FM

Retirees here in Collingwood are protected because no one drives over 40 km/hour and only a few admit to listening to 96.3's repeater at FM 102.9

Stop being just a numbers guy for a second and start being startled by the host of the hour suddenly yelling
"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!"
If you can still have the same effect all the power to you...

I dont tune 96.3 if in the mood for classical in a car, for the reason being of the static the station has when in motion.  Its this "flicking" type static thats very noticeable and annoying particularly with that station and due to the fact that classical has so many silent spots in the music makes it worse.

What's your 2nd choice, when in the mood for classical in a car?

It's like that old FMer in Barrie.  CHAY was it?  Can't really remember.  But they USED to play the deadest, most dormant, lifeless, muzak ever recorded...and it was dangerous for folks driving up to or down from the cottage late on Friday and Sunday nights.  People could have passed out and crashed listening to that drab old piddle-infested snooze-fest.

In its heyday, CKDS Stereo 95 in Hamilton (now Y108) was heavy-duty industrial strength easy-listening music. As in, "Let's-toss-the-kids-in-the-station-wagon-and-go-shopping-for-wallpaper" type of music.

Classical 96-3 ROCKS! This is just off the top of my head...but... it's beautiful music for a crazy world.
