The former Q107 personality had a long career in the biz, but one night in 1987 stands out above the rest - the evening two members of Mötley Crue came to the station for what was supposed to be a standard promotional interview.
But wild men Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee weren't in a hurry, bringing in bottles of Jack Daniels and joints filled with hashish, insisting host Joey Vendetta indulge with them in studio. As you can imagine, things quickly went off the rails, which Vendetta recalls in a recent article in the Toronto Star.
In addition to the booze and drugs, even the audience added to the chaos.
"The listeners were eating it up. The phone lines lit up like a Christmas tree and fans were begging to talk to the “Terror Twins.” We took calls without screening them, every second word was f—k, and we didn’t air one commercial for the entire two hours of the show."
