Sora: new AI video app that's as scary as hell

https://youtu.be/I1dW-nZqhew?si=1bmIx9t76rJOAuZm

This was so cool in an unnerving way I had to share it. Also, Casey has a way with a camera and his videos are a fun way to keep up with what's happening.

Looking forward to hearing Carmi Levy's calm and rational take on this new twist on artificial intelligence, hopefully later this week on Newstalk's Tec Tuesday feature on Moore In The Morning.

Re: Sora: new AI video app that's as scary as hell

Sora 2 is so disturbingly good at recreating celebrities, dead and alive. This Michael Jackson as a Walmart cashier video...

The voice, the hair, even the blending of his outfit with the blue Walmart vest is incredible. I warned a friend of mine a few years ago to get out of the VFX industry because this stuff will make it easy for the most amateur moviemaker to create big budget-looking films with any celebrity they want (obviously not to use in a commercial production).

I think there will still be actors, but they won't necessarily be the actual stars of some feature films, simply used as guides for an AI-generated actor to use to ensure a good enough suspension of disbelief. And of course Hollywood will pay them peanuts for their work.

Re: Sora: new AI video app that's as scary as hell

As much as I would like to embrace AI, it scares the crap out of me! Sure, there’s many ways it can be  applied for good use, but so far signs indicate that it will end up biting us in the butt, and we’re really only at the start of it, buckle up! I look forward to Carmi Levy’s take Tuesday on Moore In The Morning!

This reminds me of the Arnie movie where he was a cop in the future and the bad guys used an AI video to frame him , I don't recall all of the details or the name of the flick, but it was made well over a decade ago, maybe even two . Almost premonition like in my mind.

And then there's this, which made big news everywhere last week.

Meet Tilly Norwood, the AI 'actress' prompting backlash from real Hollywood stars
