A question for the esteemed panel:
You've likely seen a Skechers ad with the ubiquitous Howie Mandel. His shtick is that he asked staff at a Skechers store if he could have a free pair because he's a Skechers brand ambassador. Howie adds that wasn't actually true, but the company did sign him up a short time later.
I suppose the ad's premise is funny -- though not after 20 views. But I'm guessing it's not true because Howie would look bad if he really did try to freeload, like one of those social media influencers.
Should we believe the ad, or take it as a joke?

I think you should take it as a joke as I don’t think Howie Mandel would admit to lying to a sales associate. Commercials tend to bend the truth to sell you their wares, so beware! 🤡

So Canada's fastest 5G Network really isn't the fastest 5G Network ???

Puts me in mind of J.D. Power and Associates ratings and awards. If you have the money, J.D. Power will find some arcane category your piece of junk product will excel in. 🤨

Who exactly is Sketchers trying to sell to for whom Howie Mandel is relevant?

I was wondering that too.
To me Mandel is a washed up short lived star.
I suspect he was inflated anyway because he is a secret member of The Stonecutters.
(Simpsons reference).

Creepy Mandel flogging Skechers is in a tie with 'Sleep Daddy' Levy hawking mattresses for lamest shill of the year.

Not much of a leap from Skechers to sketchy!

I also find the Danny DeVito sandwich ads rather cringy and depressing.
I do not find it credible that young 20 somethings would also recognize him.
