Massey Hall To Host Star Studded Neil Young 80th Birthday Concert

He's a Canadian icon and he won't be around forever. Neil Young, who recorded the iconic single "Old Man," is now one himself. He's still performing but you have to wonder for how long. Which is why tickets for a just announced concert and tribute scheduled at Massey Hal for his 80th birthday will probably sell out fast.

The irony is the promoters aren't even sure if Young will show up for his own big tribute. But others will.

"The confirmed artists for NY80: A Celebration of Neil Young and His Music include Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy, Kathleen Edwards, Donovan Woods, Joel Plaskett, City and Colour’s Dallas Green, Serena Ryder, Julian Taylor, Skye Wallace and Big Sugar’s Gordie Johnson, with more acts expected to be named. CBC Radio’s Tom Power will host."

I wonder which radio station will get the honour of giving away promotional tickets to the event, but my money is on Q107 as being the most logical. But it would be a great get for Boom, as well.

It's scheduled for November 12th and I'm guessing the set list will only grow from here. Ticket sales start on Sept. 19th
