The 90+ minute interview covers her time as PD at 640 and what happened there, and Amanda offers her thoughts on the future of both podcasting and radio. Well worth a listen.

I enjoyed this as well. As you say, Mike immediately addressed the "elephant in the room" by asking "What happened at 640?" near the top to get that out of the way or not attempt to gloss it over, and it was an interesting discussion. Cupido also appeared on Ted Woloshyn's podcast and is doing the rounds to promote her new book.

Ex-AM640 program director and CFRB alum Amanda Cupido is alive and well and thriving in the world of podcasting. In fact, she's written two books about it and is currently on tour to promote them. Her next appearance will be in Burlington in October.
"A long-time lover of radio and storytelling, Cupido discovered her admiration for the medium as a child when she would tune in to and call radio stations.
“I loved audio storytelling,” she said. “Ever since I was a kid, I loved to listen to the radio and would call in to radio stations. I made my first podcast by recording myself on the radio with a cassette tape and I would mix them all together.”
More proof that there is life after radio chews you up and spits you out!

If the podcast thing doesn't work out, there's always politics...🙄

She's sorta halfway there working for the Ontario Legislature Media Centre - though that is purportedly impartial. Can't say as I've never seen it.

Here ya go. Judge for yourself.

Interesting that Kevin Gallagher is in the video. He's since gone on to be the weekend anchor at Global News.
I'm sure there's no conflict of interest in going from shilling for the government to reporting on it, but I have to say - not the best way to engender trust. Still, a guy's gotta eat between gigs!

These days Joe and Jane Public have the memory of a goldfish so displaying a wishy washy ethical standard isn't as much of a stretch or risk as it used to be.
