Paul Wells leaving podcasting

With Paul Wells giving up on hosting his own podcast, it got me thinking about how many reporters or columnists who moved over to hosting there own show but maybe should have stayed with reporting.
I like Paul Wells writing and think he makes a great guest, but as a host of his own podcast, he was not offering anything that could not be found elsewhere.
I don't blame anyone for trying new things, you never know until you try.

Re: Paul Wells leaving podcasting

The podcast basket is getting pretty full as pretty much anyone can get one up and running. It’s sort of like bands in the 80s, for a while there was so many new artists/ albums coming out, labels were signing pretty much anyone “new wave”.  It became hard to cut through, much like podcasts today and it didn’t take long to get this way. Having said that, there are some pretty decent podcasts out there, some great specific interest/niche ones especially.
