That's because Pierre Houde does all his work solely in French on RDS. He's been the TV voice of the Habs for an incredible 36 years and been in the broadcasting business for 50.
While he may not be well known in the rest of the country, he's a legend in Quebec.
"It all began with 18-year-old Houde doing an overnight weekend music show on CKAC in 1975. He caught the bug back then. But in the interests of financial survival, he began taking accounting classes at Hautes Études Commerciales.
“I would have been a very unhappy accountant,” he cracks. “I think I did this to please my first wife Elzette’s father who was a chartered accountant."
