TV Guide, which is now only available in the U.S., ain't what it used to be. Its Fall Preview issue just hit the stands and it's a far cry from the packed collectible issue many of us looked forward to in the mail and on news stands in the old days.
One of the "new" series airing down south is "Law & Order: Toronto," which, of course, we've already seen for two seasons here. Here's what the America description of it says:

That's a pretty good assessment.
But I would not exactly compare Sgt Graff to Holmes.
The great Sherlock used deductive reasoning along with a mighty intellect to solve crimes in the 19th Century.
Graff is a guy who knows a lot of stuff.
He's sort of a polymath.
What the reviewer didn't know was how the stories that are based on real life crimes in Canada are tweaked to make them more fictional, sometimes actually spoiling what really happened in real life.
For instance the episode based on the true life swarming murder of a homeless man by young girls was ridiculously fictionalized.
But by and large this Canadian Law and Order is pretty good.
