Ft. Erie, Ontario Has Another Radio Station

It's not CFLZ, aka More 101.1. And you can't hear it over the air - it's Internet only. But Fort Erie Radio reminds me of Cabin Radio in the Northwest Territories, which battled the CRTC for years to get an actual licence.

Not sure if these guys are interested in going that route, but their home page seems to have a decent number of local news stories about the area, something you might not expect from a web-only station. Not only that, they have an actual staff of personalities, including a two person morning show, someone on mid-mornings and an evening hosted program - although not during afternoon drive. Plus, they're live all weekend, And they do local traffic reports from CTN seven days a week.

That's pretty unusual for what is often just an automated-only station. Speaking of which, they have something called "Android Adam," filling in the rest of the time, an A.I. program they claim delivers weather, news and music.

They've been on the net since 2024, and according to their website, are looking for more people - experience not necessarily required. "Bear in mind that we value Fort Erie locality over previous broadcast experience."

You can sample them here.
