I'm very disappointed to report that Whiteoaks Communications appears to have cancelled the last remaining live early Sunday morning talk show in Southern Ontario radio.
For many years, CKTB was the only station in the area to do a terrific completely ad lib and off the wall show featuring Karl Dockstader and his producer Ryan Williams. Two weeks ago, Williams announced he was heading to the company's Hamilton station to become part of their morning team, and Dockstader introduced his replacement.
But the new guy never got the chance to see what he could do - for two Sundays in a row, the show I looked forward to in the morning has been replaced by very uninteresting rerolls of "previously enjoyed" programming. That means the end of the so-called "Secret Hour," which ran from 6-7 AM and allowed both guys to talk about the inside workings of the place and basically discuss everything and nothing. (The idea of the Secret Hour was that management wasn't listening, so they could talk about whatever they wanted.)
It was very entertaining and if you were up at that hour, became something of a must listen. Despite assurances that the show would continue, it would now seem to be gone for good after two weeks of reruns. I will miss it. And that's no Secret.

Sorry to hear it RA. It’s disappointing when a program vanishes and there’s no real replacement or explanation. I remember when Dave Trafford ended his run doing weekend mornings on CFRB and stated he didn’t know who was replacing him, but tune in next week to find out, I did tune in, to CP24 audio, and that’s the way it stayed. Comes a time!
