JAZZ FM To Celebrate Oscar Peterson's 100th Birthday With Live Concert

CJRT will be paying tribute to the Canadian jazz legend all week, culminating in a live-to-air concert on Friday from 2-3 PM.

The station has a huge promo page on the event on its website.

Re: JAZZ FM To Celebrate Oscar Peterson's 100th Birthday With Live Concert

This is awesome, and might lead me to make my first ever donation to the station. Been thinking about it ever since I heard that they've played tracks by my musician uncle (a former Parkdale resident now back home in his native Collingwood area) and his partner, a jazz singer.

On the topic of Oscar Peterson, does anyone remember the name of the Peterson track that was used as the closing theme for "Later The Same Day" (4-6pm) on CBL/CBLA in the '90s? Can't remember the name, and thus can't seem to find it on Spotify or YouTube.

JAZZFM is a great station! I tune in mostly on the weekends where they have some excellent programming.  One of my favourites is BLUZFM with Danny Marks on Saturday evenings, it is shows like this that get me to donate, and it is worth it as they don’t play too many commercials on 91.1!
Looking forward to their Oscar Peterson centennial celebration this Friday. (I do think they should air the concert a bit later though, 2-3pm Friday not peak listening time for most, fortunately I’m off!)
