Has Nicole Martin left CHCH?
It's been a while now that Nicole Martin, host of CHCH's 7pm show Trending Now, hasn't been on the show. Reporter Manesa Dhanabalan has been hosting for a while.
There has been no mention of her absence, but the whole opening sequence of the show is Nicole on her phone, computer, walking around outside. If she was gone, you would think they would change the opening. Just odd.

Just like Taz Boga is still on mat leave. I saw her in some ads but I don't know if she is vacation or needed a break.

This is still weird. She hasn't been on Trending Now in a very long time. And even her social media, she hasn't posted anything new on Instagram in nearly a year. I don't have X so I don't know if she's updating there.

It is my understanding Martin was present when producer and good friend Chantel Grillo collapsed and passed away. Might have to do with that.

I noticed the intro to Trending Now tonight. I don't usually watch, but they now have Manesa in the opening montage for the show, while Nicole is still seen, Manesa is clearly more present, as she wasn't in the opening at all, even though she's been the defacto host for a very long time now.

The creator and producer of the show, Laura Sebben, left CHCH. Might this be an angle in the case of the missing host?

CHCH’s thumbnails on their YouTube channel still show Taz Boga for the 6PM livestream. We don’t know when she will return to the anchor desk. I know Manesa does a great job hosting Trending Now. So the question is: When will Taz and Nicole return to CHCH?

Taz Boga posted on March 22nd that "Hi there! I have extended my parental leave, so I can spend more time with my daughter. But I will be returning to @CHCHNews after Canada Day. I’ll make a formal announcement in the coming weeks. Hope you’re having a great weekend!".
So, as of now, looks like we'll see her in July.

An ad tonight during the Evening News says this summer, the Sportline podcast will air weekdays at 7pm and 11:30pm. That's Trending Now's current timeslots.
So is Trending Now on a summer break, or cancelled??

That show pulls reporters (3) off of the newscast and I'm thinking, with Taz Boga due to return after Canada Day, someone made the good decision to fully staff the program.

Trending Now airs the previous days' episode at 5:30 PM. There was an ad or they were talking about it on the news that it will be airing at 5:30 (new episodes) and Bubba's "Sportsline" will air at 7.

Not to make a big thing about this, but while your comment is interesting, it appears false. I went to CHCH's website and looked at their schedule for every day the first week of July, and it shows Sportsline at 5:30pm, 7:00pm and 11:30pm.

Trending now is taking the month of July off and they'll be back in August. (No time slot given)
