Gives a whole new meaning to "spilling the beans" to a reporter...
"According to WDIV, it will host community gatherings including "Coffee with the Newsroom” events featuring Local 4 News anchors and reporters. It also will be the new site of the live broadcast of "Live in the D," the station's lifestyle show hosted by Tati Amare and Kim DeGiulio that airs weekdays at 11 a.m."
WDIV-TV teaming with Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company on coffee shop in Detroit suburb

The article is blocked for me. WDIV is the best of the Detroit local stations IMO. And the FOX station would be second. FOX Detroit is nothing like the yappy ultra conservative FOX News Network.
Sort of sounds like something City TV would have done about 30 years ago!

Meh. Too much local news now wants to be the SNL skit 'Coffee Talk With Linda Richman'. 🤨

Not sure why. I have no problem accessing it.
Either way, you can definitely see it here.

The Detroit stations have a lot of local news to their credit. Where much of local Canadian news seems to dwell on the negative, or about people that aren't happy with how they have been treated, Detroit local news is very "up with people" and building up The Motor City. They do cover the murders and local political scandals but don't beat it to death like Toronto media. Once the bad stuff is out of the way, it tends to be very light and positive, which is alright but risks getting tedious. Anything positive happening in downtown Detroit usually warrants live reports all through a newscast.

I think a Spanish TV station should open up a coffee shop at a bull fighting ring.
Then they could serve Cafe Olé...

Maybe it's the algorithms on what I watch on YouTube, but investigative reporter Rob Wolchek seems very busy with his 'Hall of Shame' segments. A bit of an overblown delivery, but I have seen him chase judges playing hooky from court to go golfing, and contractors good at taking deposits, but not finishing the work they were hired to do.

Anyone remember when Charlie LeDuff worked for Detroit's Fox 2? He was doing long-form reports for the station and proved himself to be a PITA to TPTB when needed. Not to mention, some of the reports he did were funny-even a bit off color. (Said clips should be on YouTube.) We won't discuss what happened to him politically AFTER he left TV and moved into podcasting.
