Broadcast Dialogue outlines some of the changes both on and off the air at the new Whiteoaks properties. Haven't heard the name Jeff Kirkwood in a long time. He spent several decades at CHUM. Nice to see he's landed a new position.

Really outlines why this purchase is way more complex than some of the others.

Complex.... and risky... I'm glad to see them take on the challenge but doubling your workforce is very risky

Absolutely.
I'm cheering them on. They didn't come into this all arrogant and puffed-out. They seem like genuine radio fans who want to take these stations back to their local roots.
I have my thoughts on what's possible, and I'll be thrilled to be wrong.

Caught only about 15 minutes of Legend 102.9 in the car this afternoon. Music was fine and the host live, which always a plus on the weekend. First brief impression, not bad at all.

I agree with RadioAaron... I am rooting for White Oaks / Golden Horseshoe as well.
I find myself tuning in 102.9 while out in the car this past week.... And I have reason to be in St. Catharines more and more now, so I'll be checking out the FMs down there as well....
Haven't seen a marketing campaign yet, you know bill boards and bus banners (if they actually work?) but I would imagine that would be the next step in building awareness in their listening communities. Hopefully, existing audiences will remain loyal and like the changes.
Beat of luck to the Caines!

I used AI to see what it would generate as potential logos. Here is what it came up with. I don't get the certain foreign language words that show up in some of them. I basically asked for radio station logos and their names. url nederlands

The htzfm.com website is down. Somewhat interestingly, it appears that it's actually attempting to auto-redirect to "977htzfm.com" when I go to the old htzfm.com domain name. It makes good sense that they'd have a domain name that would better reflect the actual branding of the station, but its never a good thing in today's day & age for stations to be stuck without even websites and live streams.
It's also of note that it was the sole site from the Bell Media cluster to stay up after the transfer of ownership, seemingly completely intact up until today. The stream on the iHeart Radio app is fortunately still working for me. However, it seems that the audio processing chain on the stream is more "wimpy" and "hollow" sounding than before the transition, although the audio quality before wasn't very good either.
Unfortunately, I'm currently living in an area well beyond the reach of the FM signal, at least without a very elaborate high-gain outdoor antenna setup.

Bell had both domains active, so we'll see which one Whiteoaks promotes. Should probably be as simple as possible given the assuming that the listener translates "hits" to "HTZ"

Driving by the "White house of Rock" daily, The historic Merritt house where CKTB, CHRE AND CHTZ broadcast out of, the sign on the front lawn still says Move 105.7 and Bell Media. No change there...yet.
