As noted in a previous thread, I was listening to CKTB's Sunday morning show and decided to find out how they did the network join to CFRB's Trivia Show.
What I heard was very weird.
610 has its own newscaster in on Sunday morning. At 9:03 AM or so, she finished the newscast and threw to the weather. Except it came up as the same forecast that was airing on CFRB. Then, the Toronto newscaster did an extro, with Patricia Mohamed signing off for "Newstalk 1010," and the intro music for Trivia began.
That is one of the oddest joins I've ever heard. A St. Catharines newscast, a strictly Toronto weather prediction, followed by another station's announcer, branding and frequency. Do they do this every week? It's pretty strange and not all that professional. I wonder what the local listeners think when they hear something so sloppy.

Odd, yes, but if the 610 anchor threw to weather and the Toronto weather was "right there", then that's dynamite timing. Joining after the newscast makes much more sense.
