This will likely only mean something to those who were fans of Buffalo radio legend Danny Nevereth. He lost his wife of 59 years last Thursday, just weeks after he began a part time return-to-radio gig at the newly revamped WECK.

Nevereth’s wife, Marie, never appeared on air, wasn’t into radio and shunned the spotlight. But her husband constantly made jokes about her and she became an unseen and unheard character on all his shows.
 
The longtime D.J. is understandably devastated by the death of his wife, but he intends to stay on air. "I'm going to have to be very, very careful, but I'll do it," he told the Buffalo News.
 
"I'll do it because she would want me to."
