Marc Carcasole left Global's Weekend News anchor chair last October, bolting to become Breaking News correspondent for the CBC. It's taken them this long to find a permanent replacement.
It's former CTV newsman Kevin Gallagher, who will also work on the network's Friday night newscast in Toronto. There will also be some reporting duties in his new role.

I'm not going to comment on her appearance, but Noor Ra'Fat absolutely baffles me on her weekend weather. She's OK when they send her out on a scripted report, but I find her forecasts almost incomprehensible.
I honestly don't know what she's trying to say. The other day, when we were having our all-too brief flirtation with summer-like temperatures, she was pointing out the high for the day on a map and ad libbed this:
"If you want to wear shorts, I won't call the police."
WTF? What the hell does that mean? Even as a joke, it doesn't make any sense. She does very bizarre stuff like this all the time and I can't figure out how she's allowed to continue on the forecasts when every other word out of her mouth has me scratching my head.

Speaking of weather people...why do they insist on recapping the day? It's already past, I don't care. Their job is to tell me what I need to do to prepare for what's coming.
I'd like to know the reason behind Noor Ra'fat Ibrahim dropping the "Ibrahim" from her on air name. I don't mind her but she always sounds so breath-y and has an odd cadence...but that may be more of a generational thing and not necessarily Noor-specific.

When was the last time you saw a 'Weather Girl' who was a mutt? Ours are relatively dowdy, compared with the eye-candy most other countries parade out.
