They seem to think it will still be around, but in a very different form than we have today. The opinions came at Radiodays North America, a major confab of industry experts taking place right now in Toronto.
I like this quote from James Cridland, a well known "radio futurologist."
"I’m worried that we look back too much into the 1980s when what we wanted from radio was different. And that goes for the CRTC as well. We can’t talk about radio in 2040 if it’s still regulated for 1973.”
