There are more men then women on air, so who do you feel your Top 5 female hosts are on radio in the GTA?
Mine would include:
1. Garvia Bailey -Jazz FM
2. Maie Pauts- Boom 97.3
3. Gill Deacon- CBC1
4. Josie Dye-Indie 88
5. Joanne Wilder-Q107
Now it is up to you "Big Yella" faithfuls...
Who are the women on air that keep you tuned in!
Honourable mentions to Alex Pierson (sometimes on CFRB and I heard Sam Houston back on air too on CFRB and liked her mini comeback)...(now she is back with OLG)

Online!
I want to say Lydia S, but I have not heard her on the air anywhere lately.
I think she was with CHUM FM last.
Maie Pauts is great on Boom
Josie Dye is great on Indie 88...loved the squirrel bit! (recent morning show chatter, you had to catch it to know it, lol)
That lady that thinks she's on a pirate ship is very funny on CHFI.
One more? Okay, Meital Sperling is pretty good:

It's a great sounding rock station btw, each time I tune in I'm amazed how 'big' it sounds, and I do listen a fair bit.

Kristy's great! (great, now I have to reconsider my top 5...thanks a lot! lol)
Find her here:
Another great female voice from 97.7 was Codi Jeffreys, but she's in Ottawa now doing mornings at Jewel.
(If this were an Ontario 5, Codi would be one of my first choices!)

I would also include the following:
Candy Palmater
Jann Arden
Marilyn Lightstone
Dani Elwell
The bright and cheery female and male host/announcer/on-air personality is a mainstay, but it's more interesting when there's a difference from day to night.

Interesting that there's nobody from 640! 😏🤐

Josie Dye
Caitlin Green (CHUM-FM)
Robin Gerson (Virgin 99.9)
Jax (Kiss 92.5)

I agree - Tina T also has the BEST LAUGH for radio - especially when Bonner said something bafoonish and Tina could not control herself.

Maie Potts
Josie Dye
Ingrid Schumacher was my #1 fave....her voice and mannerisms on the air were quality and of course, leave it up to Bell Media and their brilliant decisions.

Laurie Brown, the co-creator of 'The Signal' the late night CBC radio 2 show, will host her last show Sept.2 and it will be interesting to see what she does next. Getting to leave on your own terms, and just walk away, the way Laurie is, is the exception.
(And to think that not so long ago, the occasional PD thought that women don't belong in rock radio. A couple of my co-workers were told exactly that.)
