Don't know how many saw this on Friday at the end of Global's 6 PM news, but it was a real treat - a tribute to chief meteorologist Anthony Farnell's two decades at the station, including the story of how he got hired.
There are also shots of an impossibly fresh faced Farnell at his first job, forecasting the weather for a Montana TV station. Were any of us ever that young?
Congrats to Mr. Farnell. He is one of the few weather experts on TV I actually trust.
You can see the 5 minute tribute here.

Congratulations, Anthony! I can't believe Storm is 14 years old. I remember when Anthony first brought him on as a little pupper. Just love Storm!

Yeah, the Dog Walking Forecast is fun, although it's really just a forecast for the next day with the canine angle added in. But Storm is the real star of that show. I was also surprised to learn he's 14. He's in great shape for a dog that age.
By the way, the few times I've seen Ross Hull take that shift, he brought in two of his dogs, who are also really great.
All of which gives me the chance to note that Sunday is "National Puppy Day."
But then who's fooling who - every day is National Puppy Day!
