CBC Looking For 30 New Journalists Across Canada, Including Ontario

The CBC has a slew of openings for news people, after it had previously announced it was would be using Google's payout into the Canadian system to add to its newsrooms in underserved areas. It's now asking for applicants for those roles and has at least 30 positions available - unusual in these times of broadcasting cutbacks.

So what's on offer?

"These opportunities span the country, including six locations in B.C., one in the North, nine across the Prairies in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, three in Ontario, two in Quebec, and one each in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We believe that every corner of Canada deserves a voice. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to lead a bureau or join existing CBC news teams depending on location."

The Ontario openings are in Oshawa, St. Catharines and Sault Ste. Marie.

You can find more information, including how to apply, here.
