AM640's Greg Brady On The Radio Show He Refused To Do

I always love behind-the-scenes radio stories about things I never knew about. On Wednesday, AM640 morning host Greg Brady related one of them. (And please don't flood this thread with hatred for the main subject of it - this is meant to be radio story not a political one!)

It happened when he was at what he termed "the other station" (i.e. The Fan590) long before Doug Ford was Premier of Ontario. He phoned Brady to pitch him on a show that would feature his brother Rob doing CFL score predictions before the games, a program that would have been a weekly feature. Rob Ford, in addition to his political job, was a huge football fan and worked as a coach for high school kids.

Brady never even considered it as a real possibility and dismissed the idea, which obviously never happened. But you can only imagine how it might have sounded had he said yes!

If that had got them into radio instead of politics, that would be a bad thing?

But seriously - Rob Ford was many things, and many of them bad, but I think his love for youth football and the CFL was one of the good ones.
