I use TuneIn Radio in the truck (with a sizable data plan) because I like the audio fidelity and the variety of stations. I stream my favourite Toronto talk stations (ie. Staffy, Oaks, Bob) and various US stations (after Staffy is done). But I noticed this morning - no more CFRB. Why would they leave this streaming 'aggregator'? Just curious - does it cost 'RB money to be available to TuneIn; Why wouldn't one want to be accessible to any streaming app; Is it that iHeart restricts them to iHeart only? (iHeartRadio is rather limited in its offerings)

I don't see 'RB on radioplayer Canada.
Looks like Bell have pulled all their stations from Tunein.
It's a tricky one for broadcasters - Tunein essentially steal streams, then run ads around them, cutting in to broadcasters' own digital revenue. On the other hand, it's a huge platform, and if your competitors are there, you'd better be too. Bell are gambling that their big enough to not have to worry about that.

It's my understanding that Bell did not initiate their removal from Tunein...
But what I don't know is why all Bell stations were given the boot...
......EDIT.....
Just saws Don's post above...
Don't know if Don is right and I am wrong here but I've double checked what I saw and the story was that Bell media did not pull their stations...not saying that's the gospel but it's out there...
I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of this...can't both be right Don!

Curious - while streaming via TuneIn, you still hear all the local radio ads respective to that station (unlike on TV, Canadian ads are in between US programming). Hey, Bell's pencils are sharper than mine and they know their business model best ;)

Yep, the regular ads aren't the issue, but Bell wants to sell their own pre-rolls and banners.

I'm just going on an assumption based on not being able to find any Bell stations there. Could be a technical issue I suppose. There's no way Tunein would chose to dump Bell's stations themselves though.
What story did you see?

No story - clicked 1010 on my TuneIn app and an audio message came on "hey TuneIn listeners, the station you've come to enjoy is no longer available."

On the index page locate the Montreal media writer who goes by the name Fagstein...
Scroll down to his writings from July 19th...
He briefly cover the issue there...
He says Bell Media did not pull the plug...
That's all I know...
Has anyone thought of asking Staffy or Oaks or Bob?

Ah. Well, technically, Bell can't pull it since they never provided it to begin with. They can, however, break it, forcing Tunein to drop it.

Not sure when this happened, but I noticed a few days ago that Bell stations are back on Tunein.
