Canada's older media, like TV and radio, are pleading with the CRTC to ease up on the Commission's regulation of their industry, as they try to stay afloat in the wake of streaming.
Rogers and Bell were among traditional broadcasters that asked the CRTC to try to level the playing field in any new rules, because they feel they're at a competitive disadvantage.
For their part, the U.S. streamers - including AppleTV, Netflix and Paramount Plus both reminded the Commission that theirs is a new medium and what worked for the old guard may not be appropriate for their business models.
