Here we go again- another Rogers outage

Rogers Xfinity cable appears to be out in north central Toronto at least. When you go to the self service web site, you can't log in. It says they're working to make things better. I called the 1-800 number, and they are having "a higher volume of calls than normal due to technical difficulties".
Good thing it wasn't last night during the hockey final.
Fortunately, I am a firm believer in belt and suspenders/route diversity.  I get my TV services from Rogers, cell phone from Fido, and landline and internet from Bell fibre-to-the-premises.  So I'll be streaming comfortably for the rest of the night.....

I switched to Bell in Sept 2023 and haven't had any issues. Don't miss Rogers at all.

Just wait.
I switched a few years ago from Rogers to Bell because Rogers cut off my phone because I accidentally missed one lousy payment when I was on vacation.
Bell told me they would never do something like that, so I switched.
Last summer Bell services cacked out three times in the space of about two months.
Each outage was about 24 hours long.
It was during several heat waves we had in Toronto.
Bell charged me my full bill for the three times I was without service for 24 hours each.
They said they had no fault because it was caused by "Mother Nature."
The point is Canada gauging has Internet mobile phone service etc
The government won't do anything about it.
We have among the highest Internet and phone charges in the world.

I have been with Bell and now with Rogers.  I just got notification that my Rogers bill is going up an additional $8 for my internet service.  I have been unhappy with both! My question is - can they increase your bill when you are under a contract ?  We need more providers!

Anything that is outside of the contract itself can go up at any time.
The box was a good example of this. The first box is included in my contract, but my second box is not.
When they decided to start charging $17 instead of $10 for the second box
I called and gave them hell.
They gave me the second box for $10 for the next two years. 
After that, I have to call back in and hope for the best possible deal.  

...and they wonder why so many people are cutting the cord.
