It takes place every year on Feb. 13th, proclaimed several years ago by the United Nations. But you may not even know about it. Outside of campus radio stations in North America, it seems to be a bigger deal in other parts of the world, especially India and Africa.
You don't hear it mentioned that often on commercial stations here.

How appropriate for today in a wide swath of Ontario in the grip of a huge storm.
All morning long from about 4 am radio stations have been shovelling information like snow, telling listeners how to drive which schools are closed, how much snow fell, on and on... proof of the value of radio!
