I was doing an hd bandscan, and I just notissed CHFI has an HD2 subchannel.I think its a hevvy rock format.
I also cot an ID.
The subchannel's name is the rocket.
The music's to hard and cool for a pop/country/easy listening fan like me.
But, i'm glad a big broadcaster is puting an hd only format on a subchannel instead of just an AM simalcast.

That's cool. I wonder if that will happen to CHST-FM 102.3 in London in the future.

The purpose of this would be to launch the "rocket" format on their Seekr app. If a stream is a simulcast of a "radio station" they don't have to pay music royalties.

the stream's also on seekr and seekr's website.
Not something I would listen to.
The music's too hip for me hahaha.

I think this format is a good alternative for some of the underperforming stations Rogers has. It could just be a full Rock version of Jack. In fact I could see this station replacing Sonic in Chilliwack/Abbotsford/Vancouver. It would have to be on all 3 as it is a cluster technically based out of Chilliwack.

I could sea a rebranding for the Sonic stations.
But, I was hoping rogers would have put CHFI's old soft AC format on one of its HD subchannels.

I might suffer and put an aircheck of the rocket up on Youtube for those who don't have seekr or an hd radio to hear.

I know about the stream, But I was planning to do the aircheck for those who don't have HD radio for you to hear what it sounds like on an HD radio.

Just listened to the stream, I could get into the station somewhat.
They were playing a hip song.
Yesterday, they were playing a neel young song.
Surprised for rogers playing cancon. and by hip, I mean the tragicly hip.
