It's Friday as this is posted and there hasn't been a hint of what will replace the long running "Roy Green Show" on AM640 and the rest of the Corus Radio Network. And it's not an insignificant amount of air time.
Green, who retired last week after 18 years on weekends to focus on his battle with cancer, occupied 6 hours of airtime over Saturday and Sunday and something has to fill that space. 640's website still lists Green's show under its "Weekend" programming, so unless they're planning endless "Best-ofs," there's no word on what they plan to put there.
They also have not been airing any promos for a new show. I suppose that means we'll have to tune in Saturday at 2 PM to see what ends up there.
I'm hoping not to be disappointed.
But all indications are I will be.

I think many of us will be disappointed RA, they would have promoted their new show(s) by now if they had anything lined up. Comes a time….

The Hamilton Spectator did a very nice summary of Green and his career, a fitting tribute to a guy who gave half a century to the business of broadcasting.

So now we have a hint about what to expect on the weekend on Corus - but it's only for this coming Saturday and Sunday.
Corus says it will have "special programming" on the potential Trump tariffs running from 2-5 PM on both days, Roy Green's old timeslot. It will be hosted by Ben O'Hara Byrne.
What happens the week after that is still not known, but at least it gets them through the first one.

Full on double-barrelled blandness.

Written by former CHML host Scott Radley. Good on him for devoting a column to Roy.

And now that the tariffs appear to be delayed another month, are they still going to air this for two days in a row?

I guess the alternative could be three hours of reroll.

Probably. But now they've gone back to Feb. 1st, so perhaps it's worth a radio show to separate fact from fiction. If that's possible with such a mercurial personality.

Biden or Harris are looking pretty good about right now.

That's a very low bar, indeed.

Yeah, sanity is underrated in America.

I listened to a good portion of Ben O'Hara Byrne's show yesterday and was quite impressed with him and the guests that he had. Albeit, he's not Roy.
