Word Theft and More
When I uploaded the CHUM FM prog era DJ's recently to You Tube. I did a search on YT to see what else was on there and to my surprise I found a You Tuber who has scoped the audio from my site and also my exact words and uploaded them as his own. How low can one get trying to pass as someone else. He's done this for maybe 20 air checks from my site.
He seems to be an equal opportunity thief as I discovered two air checks uploaded from Q 107 May 1977 and CHEZ spring 1977 where he has taken the audio and exact verbiage from the Rock Radio Scrapbook and put them up as his. He seems to concentrate on FM so I have found him lifting my words/audio more but there are probably more lifts from the Rock radio Scrapbook as well.

I know RRS web master Dale Patterson has constantly complained about this. It's irritating, but there's not a lot you can do if someone lifts your audio. You can watermark a photo or video but audio is a different animal.

Yes, exactly, a bit into each aircheck, just pause it and remind listeners they are listening to YOUR content, then go back to the aircheck. Done right, it is difficult to edit that part out.

what's really upsetting me is that he has taken my exact words and used them including instances where I use "I" so on his YT channel he becomes the new "I"
He's done the same to Rock Radio Scrapbook - verbatim words and audio. I just found more in addition to the two examples I gave above. The Pete Griffin and Pete and Geets material from RRS as well.

There was one site that was not only stealing my content, but my bandwidth too by linking directly to exhibits. How low can you go? I complained a few times and that site eventually disappeared.

Richard Irwin at REELRADIO started putting Morse code in his exhibits to discourage thieves. It didn't last long as he got complaints from his subscribers.

I believe that was Trax and Grooves. They did the same to my site.
Regarding this new issue I have put in a complaint to YT. Not sure if anything will come of it. I have also added comments to his uploads highlighting what he has done. He deleted them initially but the ones I added yesterday are all still there.
