The victim is NOT the former MuchMusic/CBC/Rogers hockey host  - he was in New York City at the time. Police responded to a call about a break-in at a place he owns in Los Angeles and found the body, a man suffering from severe head trauma.

Strombo may get questioned about this locally as well this weekend - he's due back in Canada on Sunday for a scheduled appearance at an event in Caledon. It's not immediately clear if this will change those plans..
