I know some on here enjoy the BBC News World Service. Over the last week Sky News has been on my cable line up and I have been watching the service. This channel is not owned by Rupert Murdoch, in fact the whole Sky Group organization in the UK is now owned by Comcast, and run by NBC Universal.
Comcast won a bidding war against 20th Century Fox in 2016 to buy outstanding shares and control Sky News Group. The British government had been concerned that the Murdoch family had too much media concentration and influence in the UK since they own so many of the countries largest newspapers. Newspapers are still a huge deal with great influence in Britain.
So far the service doesn't seem to have commercials. Whenever they do take a break it is a recap of the weather around the world and some promo.
I receive the channel on 1515 on Bell Fibe, and in free preview until April 20th.

UK viewers of Sky News get actual commercials, while international viewers get the "Breakfillers".
Also, what's interesting is Sky News is available over the air for free through the national Freeview OTA platform.

Sorry. Just realized it's only in the U.S. My VPN was on when I tested it and I didn't catch it. If you have a VPN, turn it to any place in the U.S. and you should be able to get it with no problem.
