Austin Delaney Retires
He announced his retirement from CTV Toronto at the end of tonight's 6pm newscast. His last day is Friday March 31st. There will be plenty of flashback clips all week. He began at CFTO in 1989.

You can watch his announcement on the CTV News site. (Probably the first time the call letters "CFTO" have been said on the station in years.)

I encountered Austin quite a few times over the years... what a stand up guy and a GREAT reporter.

Solid all around...hard working and factual...not a sensationalist victim chaser...bridged the gap nicely between the old-school, hard drinking and smoking beat reporters to the more new age style...always professional...he'll be missed.
