On the anniversary of her passing, February 12th, Christie Blatchford is still greatly missed by the many people who knew her personally, as well as those of us who enjoyed her sharp, insightful reporting and opinions, in the newspaper and on-air as a contributor to the 1010 roundtable discussions, as demonstrated by the hundreds of people who responded to both Dave Trafford's and John Moore's tweets about their friend.
Every now and then "followed by Christie Blatchford" appears on my Twitter feed and it continues to give quite the pang.

I heard her absolutely smear some people in guest spots on the radio over the years. I wonder if she was ever sued. I'm glad she was apparently nice to people because I never got that impression in interviews I listened to.

I can't speak for what she was like in person but she really was a reprehensible reporter, particularly her coverage of Rehtaeh Parsons's suicide.

I had forgotten about that. That was the worst thing I have ever seen in Canadian media.
