Just a few months ago, the CBC aired a six part series on the hockey showdown that had all of the country in its grip - the infamous Canada-Russia hockey summit of 1972. It was a very well done series of specials, but the question now is - would you watch yet another take on it?
If you get Super Channel or you're on Amazon Prime or Apple TV+, you'll be able to see it. It's called "Ice Breaker: The '72 Summit Series" and it begins airing on cable and on demand Dec. 27th. This isn't a series but rather a single movie, which features not only some of the Russian players but interviews with Wayne Gretzky, Ron McLean and for some reason, Margaret Trudeau, among others.
More details here and you can watch a 3 1/2 minute trailer on the documentary to see if it tempts you.

A documentary I would watch. Made for tv/streaming movie. Hard pass.
