Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest TV Theme Songs of All Time

Rolling Stone Magazine is at it again, attempting to rank that disappearing dinosaur, the TV Theme Song. I'm not entirely sure what I think of the choice for #1, but it's certainly a classic.

My fave remains the first season of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Sonny Curtis' "Love Is All Around." It's there, but not as high on the list as I think it should be.

In any event, no one will agree with a lot of this but for what it's worth, here they are:

TV Theme Songs 100-51

TV Theme Songs 50-1

You learn something new every day. Did you know the Dick van Dyke Show theme had lyrics? Not only that, they were written by co-star Morey Amsterdam. Who knew?

Besides the Henry Mancini version of Peter Gunn, I love the Count Basie rendition of the 1957-60 Lee Marvin series M Squad.
