Kevin Barker, who co-hosts Jays' Talk on the Fan 590, has made it to the big leagues in Toronto radio. But before that, he did it in baseball. At least for a while.
“I take full credit for my career and am not going to blame anybody,” Barker said. “I hit .249. If you hit .249 today, you’d be hitting clean-up for the Blue Jays. When I played, it was different."
The linked article is more about his baseball years than his time in radio, but if you're a fan you might be interested in his past - before he "struck out" for a slightly more stable present. (Although stable isn't a word you generally use for any radio gig!)

Baseball is the last sport I think of at Canadian Universities. It does exist at a Tier 3 level, which means it doesn't have varsity status and lacks much of the funding granted to Tier 1 sports like football, basketball and hockey.
