I've recently noticed that many of the promos and on-air imaging for Sportsnet 590 CJCL and TV Sportsnet, has changed. I'm now hearing a female voice. Not sure if it is Danielle Michaud - who is on staff at Sportsnet TV, or someone else.
She sounds like a "younger" Evelyn Macko....back in the day. Some of the reads are a little over the top.
But nice to hear another (female) voice....sports channels have been dominated by male imaging voices.
Anyone want to weigh in?

I think Danielle Michaud is great! I liked watching her on CityTV as well. I also like Kia Nurse. She does well when she is doing the commentaries on the Raptors. She is also a great basketball player!

Don't know who the Sportsnet voice is, but I like her. One thing I've noticed is her levels aren't always
hot enough. If whoever is setting them isn't careful, she's occasionally getting lost. Love her raunchy sell.

Isn't it one of the Johnson sisters, Tabby or Molly?

...especially on the Hockey Night in Canada opening.
And don't get me started on how she says "thuh NHL".

Just for clarity, are you guys referring to the voice heard in the first 6 seconds here?
Maybe Tabby Johnson indeed?

It's thee ;) Americans that use thuh short E on "the" more frequently than Canadians and Brits.
A short E can sound sloppy.
It's great to hear more and more women getting airtime in sports.
Wonder if the sound levels being uneven and all over the place is a side effect of the pandemic with more voice work being done out of the main production studios over the last two years?

Sounds to me like Awkwafina from Crazy Rich Asians. An enthusiastic, very young sounding read. Not sure if it works for a sports station but maybe they're aiming at a young male audience.
