Remembering The "Wally Crouter" Of Buffalo Radio

It was 44 years ago this week that an amazing radio career came to an end in Buffalo. It seemed like Clint Buehlman was there forever. And in many ways, he was! (Some great videos in the linked piece.)

Both Clint and Wally have been gone for many years, WBEN is still a top three station in Buffalo. CFRB, oops NT1010, I mean TALK1010, since there is no news department, is much, much lower in the rankings of popular Toronto radio stations.

YouTube, as it often does, led me to another great bit of Buffalo radio history - a story about what was happening locally on the dial back in 1989, thanks to a special three-part serial WGRZ did for their newscasts back then. Some vintage names, voices and formats forever frozen in time.

After watching that clip, I remembered listening to Taylor & Moore while driving to work. El Grosso discussing life in the "Land of Fa" Their leader was known as the FA-King. Then there was Dr. Mal Practice. "Expert Gynocologist at your cervix"
