    Sad news.  He was one of those people I could immediately hear and picture when I read the subject headline.

    Nice tribute in the Barrie Examiner, including a touching personal message from former VR newscaster Kevin Frankish, who apparently conducted a last interview with the veteran broadcaster just a day before he passed away.

    Bob was my newsman for awhile at CKFH; shortly after I arrived in Toronto.  He was a real gentleman.
