In the US, local news/talk radio has largely been replaced with national syndication. Canada is catching up with that trend if we look at RB's new lineup where even the afternoon drive show is syndicated (though only to Hamilton and London, this means the show can't be too 416/905 focussed).
Let's look at NT 1010's new weekday lineup:
Moore in the Morning - Toronto only
Agar - Toronto, Vancouver, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Kelowna, London
Evan Solomon - Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Victoria, Montreal, London, Windsor, St. Catharines, Kelowna
The Rush (afternoon drive) - Toronto, Hamilton, London
CTV News Toronto (simulcast)
Jivani - Toronto, Montreal, London, Windsor, Ottawa
Evan Solomon - Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Victoria, London, Windsor, St. Catharines, Kelowna
Jim Richards (overnight) - Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Victoria, London, Windsor, St. Catharines, Kelowna

Also interesting to note - with the exception of the CTV News simulcast - the weekday lineup is all guys and even the weekend lineup is almost all guys - exceptions being Amanda Lang, Jann Arden, and Lianne Phillipson getting an hour each for their evening podcasts. 640, the one-time "Talk Radio for Guys" has more women on weekdays than RB.

I have to go against my best interests and say that while CFRB (NT 1010) may not be run the way I'd like it to be run,
it is however still a lot better than the way AM 640 was once run.
Remember Tom Rivers in the morning?
A morning & afternoon drive local...everything else satellite network content from the States.
I refuse to say anything too nice about Bell, but good on them for at least doing their best to try and avoid going that route...
