Another Streaming Only Show Coming To OTA TV To Fill A Schedule Gap

So far, CBS has used its All Access show "Star Trek: Discovery" to fill gaps in its schedule, with COVID production delays getting the blame.

NBC has imported "Transplant" from CTV on Mondays.

And now, another network is taking from a streaming service to get through this endless outage. This time, it's the CW, which will air the mini-series remake of "The Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" beginning November 23rd. It's unusual for two reasons - the series was commissioned by Netflix, which almost never licenses its material for broadcast. And "Gilmore" used to air on The CW (which morphed out of the defunct WB Network.)

The CW is seen here OTA on Channel 23, and some people can get it on cable over KTLA.

The COVID crisis continues to play havoc with television schedules, as new shows get delayed or shut down by virus outbreaks. Another weird legacy of 2020.

Re: Another Streaming Only Show Coming To OTA TV To Fill A Schedule Gap

Warner actually owns The Gilmore Girls and produced this revival for Netflix. Since it's been a few years, it's likely their exclusivity agreement has expired.
